I'm finding some cables for computers - especially case fans - and I presume that they'll work, but I'm not certain.Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CarlisleIT) engineers connectors, installation tooling, and cable assembly systems that meet the most demanding of specifications. It's like these cables just don't exist, which is weird, since this task is probably not uncommon. To my surprise, I'm not finding any kind of two-pin splitter, extension, etc. I presume that the extra load of a mic array is trivial, so adding that load to the lighter, even if I use them concurrently, won't raise any issues. Instead, I'd prefer to split the 12v power source. I never use it, but I can imagine wanting to at some point, as an electronics accessory port. However, I don't really want to disconnect the lighter socket. The connections are all buried in the center console, so I haven't seen them yet - but it's my understanding that the lighter socket should connect to a power source with a similar two-pin connector. I've learned that it is designed for a 12-volt input (the array is also sold as a different version that replaces the Molex connector with a lighter-socket DC adapter). The array has a two-pin Molex-style power connector that needs a power source. Unlike the old mic (which didn't work well), this one - an Andrea DA-350 linear array - is powered, presumably to filter out road noise. I'm installing a mic for a head unit in a Mazda 3.
